Wednesday’s Wentworth Park tips & best odds | 2/11/2022

BEST BET: She's A Pearl (Race 5)

Whilst she has been a bit disappointing in her last few outings it's great to see the Million Dollar girl back and ready to light up Wentworth Park. She is having only her sixth start back since having a seasonal break and recovering from a sore shoulder and in her five runs back she has won two, run a second and run fourth in two. There is no doubting that she is all class and if Jody Lord has her ready and with any luck and a clean beginning she will make a mess of this field. She will probably start at reasonable odds too, as she has not been her usual brilliant best out of the boxes since returning but that will only add to the appeal of watching this dead set champion go around tonight.

Danger: Gatlin when at his best can low fly. This boy has run 29.28sec around here which is as fast as any dog has gone in a long, long time and faster than She's A Pearl. Has just been missing the kick a bit of late but if he comes out humming can certainly match it with She's a Pearl

NEXT BEST: Wyndra All Class (Race 8)

This daughter of Fernando Bale and Winxette's run last Wednesday night was astounding and she clocked a flying best time of the night to boot. She was coming off an awkward draw in box six and just did everything right and brained them. She draws a little wider again tonight in box seven where she has had one run for one win. Daniel Gatt has done a great job with this girl getting her home in four of her nine starts and throw in a couple of placings and this girl has a future. She should get room to move with a moderate beginner drawn under her.

Danger: Flip The Script would have been a value bet if not in this race. He grows an extra leg of the inside box and while he has been mixing his distance of late will be exceptionally strong at the end of the 500m and if he gets luck around the first turn will be thereabouts.

BEST EACH WAY: Glide to Excel (Race 7)

Allen Williams has this boy getting back to his very best. He strung together four very good wins back in August before stepping up in grade and distance and has been progressing nicely. He is quite capable from the outside draw having nine starts from outside box six for a couple of wins and a handful of placings and should get plenty of room to move with both the five and six dogs looking to head left to the fence. He may need to improve his own personal best around here if he is to win this, but at the juicy odds he looks to be in early guides, he is certainly worth an each way ticket at the very worst.

BEST ROUGHIE: Subtle Art (Race 6)

Subby Ngurah puts the polish on this son of Collision out of his good bitch Nino De Oro and he is a sneaky chance at good odds of pinching this race tonight. There is no pace in the race whatsoever and last Wednesday night we saw him chasing hard and tracking Start Packing the entire way around and didn't shirk his task at all, going under by a couple of lengths and still ran about 30sec dead, running the first section in 5.49secs which is often good enough to lead here at headquarters. If he can lead this field and run 30sec dead tonight I think he will be in this race up to his eyeballs. Would expect to see the inside division and the seven dog heavily tried in the betting which may leave Subtle Art at very nice odds.
