Dapto greyhound preview, racing tips & quaddie | Thursday, 1/2
This Thursday night, Dapto will host 12 races, with the first beginning at 6.57pm local time. There is a mix of grades and distances, with the heats of a 5th grade 297m series highlighting the program. As always, Australian Racing Greyhound will be on hand to try and find you a winner or two.
Race 5: Omega Jacob (7)
This recent addition to the all-conquering Lord kennels has come from Victoria with an impeccable record at Sale. He has had five starts on the Sale circuit for three wins and a second. He has had all his starts from inside boxes, so it will be interesting to see how he handles box seven, but with a vacant box under him, he should get the room he needs early. His last win at Sale was in best of the night time which suggests he has a bright future and will be aiming for bigger things shortly.
Race 9: Silvertree Lana (1)
This little girl can find a way to get beat, having had 12 starts for two wins and seven placings, but should be able to add to her record in this race. She has only had one start here at Dapto, and that was last week for a good win off box seven. She gets a much friendlier draw in this first heat of the fifth-grade sprint. She has never had the inside draw but should be able to improve on last week's time, and that should be good enough to progress her to next week's final.

Race 10: Cleary (7)
Cleary has been racing in great heart recently, with consecutive seconds at Richmond, before saluting there in good time on Monday from this same box over the 401m. He has only had one go here at Dapto, and that was twelve months ago over the 520m. He is a good beginner who should be able to put himself into the race early and use his 400m strength to hold them off late. He has started at good odds his last few starts, and I hope that continues despite his win Monday.
