Greyhound Racing Tips For Friday 3rd July 2009

Welcome to Australian Racing Greyhound's free Greyhound Racing Tips for Friday 3rd July 2009 with Tips tonight from Geelong (Victoria), Richmond (New South Wales) and selected races from (West Australia).

Just quickly, we need to point out how well the greyhound tips served us last night. Plenty of value and plenty of winners including all the first three Cup Heat winners at Albion Park and a narrow second to Ryan's A Rocket in the final heat. More impressively one of those winners was Cosmic Rumble who paid massive overs of $5.50+ on Iasbet, Sportsbet, Centrebet, Sportingbet and .

Hopefully we'll see some more of that good action tonight, so with Greyhound Racing coming from Geelong (Victoria), Richmond (New South Wales) and selected races from Mandurah (West Australia), lets just recap betting advice for those tracks.

Geelong is considered to be a safe punting track especially over the 457m distance. The 347m starts are usually plagued by interference and terrible betting races, box 1 is an advantage and box 3 has a good record of this trip. The few 600m races run can produce good results but the short run to 1st corner has caused more than one betting plunge to go astray and does give an advantage to the box 1 runner. Over the 457m boxes 1 and 8 both share favouritism with the next most preferred draw box 7.

Richmond has always been a hot bed of greyhound betting activity, both good and bad; and it has always paid to follow educated money in most races at Richmond. The track has undergone some changes in recent years but the 535m races are genrally safe betting events as most dogs will get their chance in the run. Richmond races over the 313m and 400m distances and these should be avoided as betting options. If you must bet, boxes 1 and 2 over the 313m and box 1 over the 400m journey are massive advantages. The inside 3 boxes are only slightly favoured in the 535m races and again the inside 3 boxes are slightly favoured over the longer 717m distance. Over the 618 box 1 can be an advantage with box 2 next best.

Mandurah can be a punters graveyard, the 492m distance, 647m distance and the 302m distances are corner starts and even the 405m start is only a short run before the corner. Good beginners are decidedly advantaged as are the red boxes over all 3 shorter distances. In the 302m races box 1 is a huge advantage and the same box features as prominently over the 405m, although the inside 4 boxes all perform well. Over the 492 distance box 1 is again a big advantage as is box 2. Over the 647m there is a very slight preference to the squeeze boxes, 3,4,5 and 6 but it is marginal.

Geelong Greyhounds – Race 5 – Box 8 – Windermere Tide

On his home track tonight where he has won 3 of 12 starts with a further 4 placings, Windermere Tide looks well boxed out in the 8 box. Has recorded 2 of his 5 wins from outside draws and has managed to put 2 good wins back to back here from box and last start at Warragul from box 1. PB of 27.75 is not super quick but has been showing a good turn of foot from the boxes and should get every chance.

Geelong Greyhounds – Race 7 – Box 1 – Sootica

Sootica is the veteran of just the 12 career starts and has managed 3 wins and 2 placings. 2 of those 3 wins have been here at Geelong and they have all been when Sootica has drawn the red box. Starting from her favoured box 1 tonight she looks the best of good things and might just go around at good odds.

Geelong Greyhounds – Race 8 – Box 1 – Keeko Bale

Must be the last throw of the dice for the once more than handy Keeko Bale. Hasn't won since December 2008 and not for lack of trying. Has still managed to be in and around the placings in much harder company but can't find the line infront. Absolutelty gifted this race on best from with 3 slow beginners drawn to her outside and the only possible knockout dog in Galba Chris, awkwardly drawn in box 5. Looks a graded certainty dropping in grade but must show more than she's been recenlty and hopefully will get all the favours from box 1.

Richmond Greyhounds – Race 4 – Box 6 – Fancy Ace

Don't be suprised to see the trained Fancy Ace prove to be just that on her race night debut at Richmond. Drawn against what looks like a very ordinary lot who've had more than a few chances, the son of ~ Flash Fancy is sure to have been well prepared for his debut over the Richmond 535m course. Ann & Dennis Barnes put the granddam Miss Fancy to Collision and were rewarded with prolific winner and one time Richmond distance holder Fancy Penny, who ran 30.29 as a maiden at Wentworth Park and won here in 30.75 early in her career.

Richmond Greyhounds – Race 5 – Box 3 – Gold Slammer

Pretty handy distance race with some handy greyhounds involved. Black Minx has beaten Ace Zace at both previous starts and consequently it's hard to see her turning the tables tonight. But while most will be focussed on that clash Gold Slammer has snuck right back in to best form with a very good second to Forty Twenty in track record time over the 729m and then following up with a commanding 731m win at by 8.75 lengths. One time Wentworth Park Gold Cup winner who looks like he's getting back to that form.

Richmond Greyhounds – Race 6 – Box 2 – Lochinvar Vogue

Lochinvar Vogue won very well here last start in the heats of this race by getting to the lead early and doing enough to win by 3.75 lengths in 36.22. Has won just the 2 starts from the 4 career runs with the only other win being a 30.13 maiden win at the Gardens over 515m in May. Will have to do everything right as the other heat winner Kerry Colleen managed to run 35.87 but did get all the breaks in running.

Mandurah Greyhounds – Race 5 – Box 1 – Packed And Gone

Unbeaten from box 1 Packed And Gone looks well placed off the red drawn here to add another win to her 5 wins in 16 career starts. Failed her only attempt over this longer journey but has won 3 in a row at 297m, Mandurah 302m and last start over the Mandurah 405m. Has won by good spaces at all those starts and looks the likely leader again, just has to hang on in the run.
