South Australian greyhound racing comes to an abrupt halt

Further to the government’s six day lockdown announcement yesterday, Greyhound Racing South Australia (GRSA) has been forced to abandon all greyhound racing until at least Tuesday next week.

GRSA have advised that there will be no racing or trialling in South Australia from midnight 18th November 2020 until midnight next Tuesday 24th November 2020.

GRSA have said they will await further advice from the SA government in relation to the period immediately following this initial six day lockdown and how that may impact the greyhound racing industry.

The Greyhound Adoption Program (GAP) will be working remotely and all assessments are cancelled for the six day period.

There was no mention of compensation for industry participants due to the shutdown.

Today’s scheduled Mt Gambier greyhound race meeting and Angle Park meeting have been abandoned.
