Rockhampton Greyhound best bet, & value bet | Wednesday, 12/10/22

Australian Racing Greyhound has you covered with our best bet, next best, value tips and quaddie selections for Wednesday, October 12th.

BEST BET: Five Putt Cal (Race 8)

The -trained (box 6) looks the best bet on this program. This daughter of steps up to the Rockhampton 510m for the first time tonight. She is a rising three year old greyhound so it is probably a good time to test her over the longer sprint distance. She has been finishing off her races well over the 407m so the extra distance should not be a problem. Her last two starts suggest that she is getting back to her brilliant best. Two starts ago, she smashed a free for all class field clocking a very fast 23.46 seconds over 407m. Last start, she finished second behind the smart but still clocked a good 23.71 seconds. Tonight, she looks the early leader despite the tricky draw and should be winning again. Black Delight (box 8) looks the main danger, but she too steps up to the 510m distance for the first time.

Best Bet

NEXT BEST: Kahuna Beach (Race 11)

The -trained Kahuna Beach (box 3) looks the next best bet on the program. This son of the great failed to beat a runner home from box four last Saturday night at Rockhampton after being severely checked when contesting the early lead. That is why they call it the squeeze box. Previous three runs have been great when winning or been placed, clocking around 24 seconds on each occasion. A repeat of those runs would see him winning again. Tonight, he has a good low draw and a noted slow beginner drawn directly outside of him. Expect him to be contesting the early lead again and burning to the front down the back straight to victory.

Best Bet

Race 11 – SilkKahuna Beach (3)

Form: 361138 | Career: 10: 3-0-2 | Trainer: Andrew Suli

$2.70 with Betfair

BEST VALUE BET: Golden Hands (Race 10)

The Juanita Thompson-trained Golden Hands (box 3) looks the value bet for the program. This daughter of the great Fernando Bale is a new addition to Juanita's kennel. This former Victorian greyhound had her first run at Rockhampton last Wednesday night where she finished a close fourth behind from box three, clocking 24.20 seconds. She did show good early speed out of the boxes and could have natural improvement to come. 24.20 seconds could be about the time the winner of this race will run. Easy Eddie (box 1) and Red Card Bob (box 2) look the main dangers from their good low draws. She will need to cross them early and a good lead.

Best Bet

Race 10 – SilkGolden Hands (3)

Form: 363844 | Career: 28: 4-0-5 | Trainer: Juanita Thompson
