Wentworth Park betting tips

Well we hope you all had a Merry Christmas and now we head into the last Wednesday night meeting at for 2022 with a cracker of an eleven race programme to line the wallet and get you in the mood to start those New Year's Celebrations. The masters get a run, as do the up and coming stayers and a quality free for all, plus lots of great fifth grade action. As always we will try to find you a few winners and hopefully some of them at good value.

Best Bet – #8 Blue Moves (Race (9)

This aptly named blue daughter of El Grand Senor and has only just turned two years old and has been patiently bought along by astute trainer Mick Clayton and has been kept to the bigger one turn tracks in her short three race career so far but couldn't have been more impressive in her three starts. She broke her maiden in best of day time flying around and then in her last start dwelt a little at box rise but mustered so quickly and ran a flying best of day time at . Box eight should be perfect for her to get out of the boxes and use that early muster to zoom down the middle of the track and cross easily to the lead at the first turn and race away with a debut Wenty Park win. The 520m shouldn't be a worry as Mick Clayton will have her cherry ripe for this.

Danger: The first turn…if gets around it well she should win well however maybe Swift and Sassy. This girl was backed off the map last start before running second and moves into the inside ally, a box from which she performs well.

Next Best Bet – #7 Zipper Sky (Race 2)

As is the norm when Peter Sims brings a lightly raced Riverina dog to town you have to be super careful of her. This girl has been very impressive in her three race starts to date and that includes a second last start where she had every right to finish last after finding more traffic than you would find on the pacific highway at the end of the holidays. She has shown good pace in her first to runs and that will be the key here in this race. The other favoured dogs namely and Twist and Shake are both moderate beginners and very strong so Zipper Sky has to ping the lids and go to the front early and hope there is a little bit of cover for her otherwise she may be a sitting duck late for the strong dogs. Having said that I would rather be on the dog that is in front going past the 720m boxes and Zipper Sky should be and should hang on.

Danger: Zipping Osti. He should get a good enough trail from box two and headed straight to the fence last week, so he will not need to go around any dogs. It will just be a case of how far back is he and how much clear air does he get?

Best Value Bet – #1 Tarawi Rocky (Race 4)

In what looks the best race of the night the value looks to be for Dave Smith. This boy loves an inside draw and got lucky here a few back to zip through along the fence to steal a win. However he usually has better box manners than that and if he can hold the rails and sit under or just behind Enso Herrera (who is one of the fastest first section dogs in training) early that dog will run up the track and tire down the back straight which might give cover to Rocky if he can stay on the fence and out of trouble. There are some hot dogs in this race with Raglan Beach, , Savvy Gold and all likely to have admirers and as such Rocky should get out to very nice juicy odds in this race.
