Cannington is set to host a 10 race program on Saturday night from 7:13PM local time. The meeting is headlined by a fifth-grade final (race five) set to be run over the 520m featuring the likes of Flying Freda, West On Odie and Katchoo. 2023 group one Brisbane Cup winner, Elite Machine is among other notable runners on the program.
Best Bet: Flying Freda (Race 6)
Flying Freda has been racing in terrific form and is expected to make her own luck in this contest. The daughter of Tommy Shelby has been a model of consistency throughout her 15 starts winning four and placing in a further nine. Since stepping up to the middle distance she has gone to another level having never missed the podium in five starts. She has set a cracking tempo in her past two outings and has only been run down by freak shows in King Tommy and West On Boonie who have both trounced rivals since. There's no rival in this race of their status and she is drawn superbly in box one. Expect her to be aided by the larger field as she leads for fun escaping all trouble. She'll set up a big break and leave these stranded on the road to her fifth career win.

Dandalup Blazer appears hard to beat in the third contest. The two-year-old has raced consistently over his past half dozen starts and his record doesn't do him justice. The son of Mepunga Blazer has bumped into the likes of Beach Ridge, West On Odie and Electrified who are all comfortably some of the quickest 520m dogs in Western Australia. Dandalup Blazer receives a much needed competition downgrade on Saturday with his biggest challenger appearing to be Solidified. There isn't an abundance of early speed in this race with Seriously Lush off box three the only noted good beginner. Dandalup Blazer appears well boxed in the pink and given he can emulate his first sectional from his past two starts he should find a prominent position. The key is being in-front of Solidified coming out of the first turn and he should just do that onwards to victory.

Second of two distance races on the night presents one of the better bets on the program in Blessed Doll. The daughter of Bekim Bale has been getting plenty of miles in her legs over the 715m of late with her last four runs over this distance. In her past four starts she has managed one win and two placings with all contests featuring the likes of Crypto Monelli and Couch Surfer who is currently the best stayer in Western Australia. She finds a race with no superstars and will be aided by the small field. The likes of Sin Bin Sammy, My Dream and current favourite It's A Dime have limited experience over this distance and will be on very heavy legs late in the piece. This will allow Blessed Doll to swoop right over the top and snatch victory.
