Rockhampton greyhound preview and betting tips – Wednesday, 18/10
Rockhampton is set to host a 12-race program on Wednesday night from 6:42PM local time. The meeting is headlined by two heats of a Maiden 1000 series where the likes of top-line trainers Darren Taylor, Bradley Belford, Dallas Beckett, and Christine Pollard will unveil some sharp youngsters.
Race 9: Sir Banjo (6)
Sir Banjo will be out to turn the tables on his current arch-rival, Skill Set. The pair have faced each other on numerous occasions, with Sir Banjo getting the better of Skill Set in their early races. In their past two match-ups, Skill Set has gotten the better of Sir Banjo; however, one could argue Sir Banjo was his own worst enemy. In both of these runs, he has drawn box one and ran off under pressure on the first turn. Expect box six to play in his favour, and the vacant boxes on either side will also help him.

Race 5: Who's Billy (4)
Who's Billy will be looking to make amends after an unlucky start to his tenure with Ken Boody over the 510m. Jumping from box eight, he was only fair into stride and was shafted wide on the first turn, which left him far too much to do. He flashed home strongly to be the eye-catcher out of the contest. His run prior over the 407m was elite, winning by eight lengths in 23.55. Who's Billy maps to sit third in this contest behind Sonic Groove and Swerve. If he can get a touch of luck going into the first corner, he will prove very hard to hold out.

Race 11: Cyndie's Hope (6)
Leading Rockhampton trainer Ken Boody will be hoping to cap off what could be a big night with Cyndie's Hope in the penultimate. The daughter of Dyna Double One has been racing in consistent form, running in the top three in her past five starts, including a 23.99 third-place finish behind Rosa's Legend last week. She has shown a tendency to use the track in recent weeks and will be much better suited to the outside box. The current favourite, Federal Remark, is having his first look at the track and appears to be a risk at the price. Expect Cyndie's Hope to prove hard to beat.
