Wentworth Park racing tips

With 11 quality races at this Wednesday night, we will see the beginning of what may be a new dawn for greyhound racing. The system will be used for the first time at Wenty for two races on the card – five and six. There are also heats for the dogs and bitches and a great non-graded race. Hopefully, we can find you a couple of winners.

Best Bet: Leg Speed (Race 1)

Leg Speed used box two well in his win on Saturday night and comes up with the same box in this race. He is two from two in the chequered rug and will be looking for the hat-trick. This race has more depth, but he is bound to improve from his weekend win. He still appears to have the habit of just dwelling a bit at box rise, but with moderate beginners either side, he might still find that clear run he needs early. There is still improvement in this boy, who's had only the 13 career starts. If he can get away clean, he will break the 30-second mark and go back-to-back at headquarters.

Next Best Bet: Zipping Caleb (Race 5)

This youngster did a fantastic job to race away from a quality field in the $25,000-to-the-winner Maiden at Goulburn two weeks ago. Has been perfectly placed in this one-win-only race, and while he is drawn awkwardly in box six, he has slow beginners either side, which will benefit him tremendously. He has a win and a second from his only two career starts and has a ton of potential. If he is able to show the same pace he did from box four at Goulburn, it will set him up perfectly to win on his Wentworth Park debut.

Best Bet

Best Value Bet: Soliola To Excel (Race 3)

If this boy can find his best from his favourite inside box, he will go mighty close in this race. He boasts a record of 19 starts for six wins and 10 placings, and two of his misses have come here off terrible draws. He has had only two attempts from box one for a win and a third. He has been racing well in harder company at and has broken the 30-second mark there. He is a moderate beginner, which is what has caused him trouble at Wenty. However, if he can utilise box one to the best of his ability and gets an ounce of luck through the first turn, he is strong enough to run a strong race at nice odds.
