Wentworth Park tips, form & odds for March 12, 2022

Wentworth Park tips and best bets for March 12, 2022
With the wet weather causing havoc in and around Sydney of late and some great chasing interstate there is a distinct lack of nominations for this program and as a result only 9 races on the programme. I can’t remember the last time there was only 9 races on a Wenty Park Saturday night. That just means we can tip the programme with 9 winners so here we go…. Good Luck with all your investments.

Race 1 NSW GBOTA Welcome 5th Grade 520m

Fantastic Luna has been sent out short-priced favourite at all three of her starts to date and has very little luck here at her two goes around. Looked as though she had her chances last week when beaten one length but still copped a bit of trouble early. Finds a suitable race and should be opening her Wenty Park account. Romantic Power has only won one career race and that was his only start off box 1 and that was in good time at the old Richmond track. Box 1 will improve him and he is a definite chance. Flying Giuseppe recently transferred from Peter Sims to Andrew Bell and will have his first look here Wednesday night — that might be a good guide and certainly has some upside. Dixie Hawk another Bell runner can show pace in her races and is one win and one place from box 7 so handles wide draws and might be a value hope.

Race 2 Ladbroke It 5th Grade 520m

March Legend copped a knock soon after the start last week and was forced wide on the first turn, which wasn’t a bad effort at all. Gets back to the inside boxes and while he hasn’t had box 1 in his career he is two wins and three placings from five box 2 starts, including a handy 29.96 off this box a couple of months back. Pocket Dynamite is another having their first look here on Wednesday night and may be improved on whatever he does there. Has good northern form and deserves his shot in town. Riley’s Fusion probably should have won here last week when very unlucky and if she has learnt her way around the tricky Wenty Park layout, shows the same zip, and may be hard to beat. Skedaddle Jamie couldn’t quite lead and was a close up second in a mixing sort of race last week. Will need to lead to beat these. Plodder is the strong dog running on strong in 565m races of late. Not sure how much start he will be giving them but is a knockout chance if close enough early.

Race 3 – Friday Night Racing @wp 5th Grade 520m

Another tricky race but I think the leader just might win this. The battle for the front will be fought out between Fascinate Mel and Zipping Striker. Mel has been racing well and has a couple of close placings at recent starts and when leading, she often carves out times but just hasn’t been able to cross over recently. She has a distance dog drawn inside her so should get the room tonight. Striker on the other hand mustered quickly for a good win in a small field at Bulli. He is a reliable beginner who will put himself in the race early but is not overly strong. Has a P.B of 30.17 and that might be enough to win this. Fully Roasted is a Victorian distance dog now with Chloe Bilal and has been working up to this longer trip and with the vacant box underneath might get a clear path through the first turn but he is a big long striding dog that might struggle around the tight glebe circuit, he did power home down the long Bulli straight over 400m last start — watch him closely. Hay Pepper has a couple of wins from box one but is only a moderate beginner and is a definite place hope.

Race 4 – Lgee 2015 Fernando Bale 5th grade 520m

In a race named after one of our greatest (if not THE greatest) ever chasers I think Sally’s Reward can lead. She showed good early pace again last start but just got crossed and checked by Crocodile Vella. There is good pace in this race from Rebecca Gay and Fergie Pepper and I think the early battle will be critical. Having said that there is no reason that Fergie Pepper can’t repeat the dose and run a slick first section and hold them out and go on to win. Loves inside boxes and is the genuine threat. Rebecca Gay’s track debut wasn’t terrible either. She began beautifully from the inside alley and set up a good lead before being overrun by a couple of strong dogs. She will get room early and could well zoom down the middle and lead as well. Not sure how strong she runs out 520m though. Boy Serious is the strong dog in the race having won over 600m at Dapto and running down a strong one here in February. If he gets the dream trail is more than capable of running over the top of them late.

Race 5 – Ladbrokes Golden Easter Egg Prelude 8 4th/5th Grade 520m

Good to see a full field here for the 8th Prelude of the Golden Easter Egg. Impulse Buy for the powerful Azzopardi kennel is the interesting runner a winner of the Warrnambool Oaks over 450m and most recently ran 3rd in a heat of the Australian Cup at the Meadows. Is a talented chaser who can miss the start from time to time but has been brought to Sydney with a goal in mind. Redeem Our Cash is going great guns of late, but that has been when she is in front and I’m not sure if she has the pace to cross and lead Coco Model early. Coco Model can carve out sections on her night and has a handy P.B and has been freshened up after a sprint campaign. She may not be the strongest dog but if she is in front is awfully hard to run down and ran 3rd in the National Futurity here in January. Crocodile Vella won a similar type of race last week when he pinged and lead. Will have a tougher time doing that here but is good enough to win sitting behind the leader and running over them. Murray’s Way did just that last start sitting off the lead and powering home and must be a place chance with luck and Boab just keeps picking up cheques for connections and may get a dream run behind Coco Model.

Race 6: wentworthpark-com-au Masters M1/M2/M3 520m

This time the masters head to the boxes for race 6. The Champ Sunburnt Highway had his colours lowered last time ending a five race winning streak here, but he did begin poorly off box 8 that night and never got near the fence to chase them. He doesn’t usually miss the kick badly twice in a row and I expect him to bounce back for win 38 here. Biggest threat I feel is Bobby the Brute he ran down Prim and Proper in sub 30 secs a couple of weeks back and never really got a crack last week behind Angry Blizzard, who pinged the lids off box 1 and ran 29.93 himself with a vacant box underneath and a moderate beginner outside some might fancy his chance of doing something similar, but it won’t be quite as easy against this field from this box. Zipping Brady the second Goodwin runner is another honest chaser that just knows how to pick up a cheque and might be doing that again in this race.

Race 7: Clem’s Friend Zone Finale 5th Grade 520m

Aston Barak has had a six week freshen since finishing last here in Feb. Am sure Jason Fletcher will have this boy ready to rumble and if he can get anywhere close to his P.B, he will win this. Artic Kingdom hasn’t missed the quinella in seven runs from box 1 and if Aston Barak is not on his game might, he be good value to win this off the inside. Supersound has a very quick 29.77 P.B here but we haven’t seen the best of him recently and the same can be said for Romantic Storm who had his favourite box. Loui Wonton is starting to show signs of returning to good form and pace but this is tougher and he is better drawn inside.

Race 8: Lgee 2016 Moreira 5th Grade 520m

Jigsaw Joe has done nothing wrong since transferring in to the Bilal Kennels and while only sparingly raced might well find himself in front in this and prove hard to run down. Appetizing sat behind the speedy Coco Model last start and ran past her to win well. She likes box 1 and there is nowhere near that pace in this race and with a decent beginning she may well be the leader or very handy and is a definite threat. Little Prayer has been showing pace against the middle distance dogs but not sure she will cross these and that may spell trouble for her. Reena’s Rosie is strong and wants the fence and might just get some breaks in the small field but is not going as well as she was 2 months ago and is a place hope. Key Bob is another that can show pace on his night and box 5 might suit here. If he begins well he can run a time that could win this.

Race 9: Lgee 2017 Striker Light 5th Grade 520m

With no 700m races on the programme tonight Buzz Along drops back to the sprint trip and draws box 1 which may just be the godsend Jason Fletcher was looking for. She is a good beginner over the longer trip and not sure if she has the pace to match some of these early but there is no doubting her ability and strength so will be interesting to see how she goes. Uno Herrera has shown pace in recent starts and chased She’s a Pearl two back. Has the ability to be in this but would need to cross. Rocking Jewel has been ultra-consistent of late chasing hard behind some good greyhounds and can show pace. Is definitely not the roughest with greyhound betting sites in this field? Scotty and Kiwi Fantasy have just about used up all their chances but both are honest enough to collect a cheque in this field
