Wentworth Park Wednesday tips & quaddie | June 28, 2023
Wednesday’s 11-race program at Wentworth Park kicks off with a maiden and concludes with a 280m dash for cash, and there are some great races in between – including a quality free-for-all and a great masters‘ event. The battlers even get a guernsey, so there is something for everyone. As usual, we will try to find you a winner or two.
Best Bet: Okey (Race 11)
Okey was extremely unlucky last week when running Fascinating Donald to a head. The box was the only difference; Donald got the cosy run along the fence, while Okey had to work around the trouble and then set sail after him. The time, Donald won’t get all the favours from the middle draw, and barring some interference Okey should get all the room he needs out wide to sweep around them and charge away as they straighten. He has a good record from outside boxes and a slashing personal best, and he should be back in the winner’s circle to close out the night.

Next Best Bet: Wyndra All Class (Race 5)
Wyndra All Class is coming back from a couple of Group 3 assignments at Dubbo and Albion Park, and while she hasn’t been at her brilliant best around here recently, there is no She’s A Pearl or Screaming Jet in this 520m free-for-all. She is drawn to get to the perfect run along the fence early and push up under Coco Model and Angel Glow through the catching pen and then accelerate away down the back. She has a good box two record and a slashing personal best.

Best Value: Aria’s Dream (Race 6)
Aria’s Dream resumed with a good win at Dapto on May 11 before getting flattened when she was about to go to the lead again there a week later. The Ashleigh Harris-trained bitch had another month or so off since that run, and if she can run the 500m right out, she’ll be a big chance of causing a boilover. She likes the inside box and has a decent record from it. The race maps as though the favourite runners will be giving away a start, which is always fraught with danger at this venue. Aria’s Dream looks as though she can lead from this draw, and with some help behind her she may just be able to pinch this race at good odds.
